A+ vs B — how we grade SPY 0DTE setups

Every 0DTE Confluence Discord alert carries a letter grade. The grade is not vibes — it is a 0–8 confluence score on top of two hard gates. This page explains what A+ and B mean, where each posts, and what never posts at all.

The hard gates (before any score)

Nothing fires without both of these, regardless of how many other flags look green:

1. Level — SPY is at a live rail (gamma wall, flip, magnet, expected-move edge, opening-range edge).
2. Confirmed candle — a closed 1-minute rejection, reclaim, or break — not a wick you hope will stick.

Mid-range chop with no rail stays silent on purpose. Anticipating a level before the candle prints is the most common way traders force a bad entry; the scanner refuses that path.

What the 0–8 score measures

After the gates pass, the grader tallies confluence items (structure stretch, VWAP side, dealer delta lean, flow direction, pin/OI build, HIRO / hedge-flow agreement, and related flags). Think of it as quality of agreement among independent tells — not a prediction of profit.

• A+ = 7–8 / 8 — highest conviction stack at the rail.
• B = exactly 6 / 8 — confirmed setup, thinner stack.
• Below 6 — no Discord alert; the loop keeps watching.

A+ (7–8 / 8)

Highest-conviction alerts land in #alerts-a. Typical A+ archetypes include a stretched rejection into a call wall (puts) or a reclaim off put-wall support (calls) with flow agreeing. SMS subscribers (Discord + SMS plan) only receive texts for A+, and only inside the morning SMS window (~9:45–11:10 ET) — B never SMS’s.

B (exactly 6 / 8)

Confirmed but thinner confluence. Posts in #alerts-b. Same invalidation discipline as A+ — the stop is still on the card. The scanner also dedupes the same rail for roughly ~15 minutes so one noisy touch does not spam the channel.

Below 6 — silence is a feature

If the score is under 6, or if level/candle is missing, there is no alert. That is intentional. A quiet morning in Discord often means the tape never printed a clean rail + candle stack — not that the bot is “down.”

How to use grades (without over-trusting them)

1. Read Idea + Grade + Stop before sizing — if you cannot state the thesis, skip.
2. Treat A+ as “cleaner stack,” not “guaranteed.” Treat B as “confirmed but thinner.”
3. Honor the invalidation on a 1-minute close through the stated level — see invalidation stops.
